One of my best friends in Dallas works for the power company there. The stories he has told me over the years has scared me away from anything electrical. I've seen him beet red from arcing 240 volts. I consider myself a pretty safe person but I could never trust myself enough to break away from cable to go work with him. When the thunderstorms would roll in I used to listen to him and his crew on my scanner as they worked outages. (that is when I wasn't on call working my own crap) I'm not sure where a lineman for the power company ranks on the most dangerous job list but I would bet it's way up the list. Mad respect for those dudes.
