That was a very interesting read. He backs it with references, but now one would need to reference the reference to really determine it's validity. (All except Biblical references that is.) I personally believe that the New Babylon will be re-built where it once stood, in the middle east, though I now am questioning that after reading that article, as a strong case was made regarding America having all the attributes of what the New Babylon is described as having. I am definitely going to study this one out. I do believe the rapture is near due to the fact that the majority of the signs leading up to it have already taken place, or are taking place. In "Wilmington's Guide To The Bible" there is a section in the "topical summary of the Bible" that is titled, "Prophecies Concerning The Tribulation" and under the "nature of the tribulation" there are 46 signs that have at least 3/4ths of them that have already taken place or currently are taking place. I am sure man has been saying this for centuries, but with technological advancements just in the last 20 years, God's word has traveled into remote regions of the world never before accessible, and that is one of the main prerequisites before the rapture, that God's word will have been preached to all, giving all the opportunity to accept or reject Him. I truly wonder what happens to those who never had that opportunity, and there is much debate over that, but I figure it's not worth basing my faith on, so am o.k. with finding out on the other side. Believe me, I have MANY unanwered questions, but all of them really have no bearing on my decision to accept or reject our Lord. Thank you for sharing that with me.
