I think because it was bush the lefties would have freaked the fuck out. The righties would have praised him as the great protector. I would have found him in contempt and in clear violation of posse comitatus and would expect his resignation or push for impeachment.. Instead they came up with this bullshit patriot act which is clearly unconstitutional.
