Re: are we paying for the world???

We done it after WWII also. Screwed up part is that Japan and Germany get our system and economics better than we do. We built the Japanese car manufacturers and they almost killed us with it. But if you look back at history WWII happened because of the way the world slammed Germany after the first war. The country was in tatters and Hitler walked in a showed them a way out and we all know what happened next. I am not sure what balance to strike on this, but once we destroy the governmental part of a country in a conflict, you can't leave it a smoking hole, you will be back to it over and over if you do.

In Iraq, it is all about the oil, thats why it was rebuilt, plain and simple. Oil is what the first war with them was all about, Kuwaiti freedom was a secondary concern. Now don't go thinking I a a lefty, just a realist. Without oil there is no US economy as it is today. Oil is the lifeblood of this country. I just get pissed that the pols won't admit the bald faced truth.
