Todays systems are no more then 3 amps from a node. If you hit a house amp w/ -10db it can give you +1 at each of the 4or5 outlets in the home. The return loss is not a factor becouse in the tband there is hardly any loss at all. So a 300+ rg11 drop as aposed to running a grand worth of hardline is a viable option to the mso. This way they can make a profit off of the customer in the first year of service. After all most of the installers work for free so it hardly costs anything to get the sub active.My two cents.
