Re: New guy

Chris,
Give it a shot, at least you'll be working. Anyhow to your questions, you can still make money at $80.00 a single but material costs are going to vary per install, depends on amount of gas especially, the tighter the routes the better, the further the worst. Cable is not too big of a problem as "most" homes are prewired anymore so on an average you won't use more than 80' per job. This industry is so screwed up though and so much can depend on the company you work for, are they on the up and up? or are they a backcharging hack factory. talk to the tech's who are working there now and get an idea of how they percieve their company, be careful who you talk to, look for the ones who have their shit together, clean truck, clean clothes and pride in their work. If you hear one complaining about everything leave him alone he is a hack. Ask questions about average take home and cut that a little as you will need time to get up to speed. I am sorry i can't give precise #'s but there are just too many variables to be accurate. good luck and Godspeed , this industry needs some new blood with positive attitudes.
