I can understand what you are trying to do but in defense of ALL of us, we (including me) have had bad expeiriences with some members of law enfocement so it does make us all a little gun shy (no pun intended) even you I am sure can admit that some officers (mostly rookies) seem to have a problem with powers trips which translates into it's own form of harrasment.
As you can tell I am sure I work in the Cable industry and I spend alot of time on the road driving or parked and climbing poles and for the most part law enfocement will assist but sometimes you get the new guy who is full of badge and gun disease and gives us shit when it is not deserved.
So take it all with a grain of salt and best of luck with your search.
