They absolutly are. They have found out that all of the off the wall entitlements have to be paid for somehow by someone. And if there is a bump in the road this is what happens. California is a small scale picture of what the federal government is heading for with all of the spending, California just can't try to print money or borrow uncotrollably like DC can.

And for unemployment numbers, look at the top ten list. They tend to be in older manufacturing towns and big cities, which have spent like there is no tomorrow and are more politicial patronage havens than effective governments. They refuse to accept change and look at them now. Philadelphia, New York, Boston, DC, Baltimore, they are all a mess and all I have seen and heard is them all complaining it is someone elses fault. It really is time to start cleaning house don't you think?
