I have no beefs with Lazarus either. His opinions don't entirely coincide with my own views, but he can articulate his position without involving anyone's mom too.
And what you say is true, too far to either side is a recipe for trouble. I don't wan't a police state but I don't want the wild west either. I want the government to do what is necessary tfor the basic needs, not to be omnipresent.
