I've been noticing a lot of people getting interested in cable. I've been doing cable for 5 years, I've tried to get away from it 3 times now, but it always ends up sucking me back in because I can't survive doing anything else. If you value your personal life, then this probably isn't the job for you. I hear a lot of new people complain about all the hours and bitching and moaning about the heat and humidity. I work 7 day work weeks and most nights I usually don't get home until 11 or 12 at night...and I am at the office every morning at 6:30am to get my equipment and get going for the day. Quality is everything. Take the time to make it right, and make it tight...and the money will follow...but the routes are harsh...I do whatever it takes to get my jobs done and get my jobs done right...and I've made a hell of a living for the past 5 years doing it.
