early 60s
discontinued in california a few years back,, foto went to dept.of trans. was a pic of a striping crew with the cone man sitting on the perch at the rear of the truck placing cones prior to striping the road. radar foto says the truck was doing 110 mph .and the cones remained standing, however they may have corrected it and went back to the cameras
