Re: Unions

Maybe...but not for health care and that but to put a stop to contractors and cable companies from being able to screw with so many people who just want to do a good job. In Tulsa, Cox is getting free sweep. By putting in a contract that a company was stupid enough to sign...they guaranteed sweep for a year. For a year?! So when an amp is set out in Feburary in 10 degrees and it is June and 90 the levels changed. No shit!! It took 6 months for them to QC the thing and they expect it to be the same. Things like that are wrong. And Cox is taking advantage of people who need work and the company in Tulsa doing the contract work in equally complicit since they are forcing subs to redo sweep after 6 months. Ridiculous. That is what a union would help. If it isn't qc'd within a week, all bets are off. And if it isn't certified within a month too bad. Too much changes on cable in that time. The in house people come in and make changes and don't document it so they blame the sub. This is not to say subs don't screw up. But if it was taken care of with in a week then it would be more believable. Not 6 months later. Same in Phoenix. They tried to say nodes didn't certify 5 and 6 months after they had been swept. So? No kidding. Lightning storms and floods and 115 dgree heat. No kidding!! If we were some sort of union, then there would be a standard for the industry and these people couldn't pull this crap.
