I think the Auto Workers of America and all the associated industries; dealerships, distributors, parts, sales, etc, etc, would be insulted by your analogy.

The question you should be asking yourself is what would be the fallout if nothing was done?
How many less people woud be at the malls shopping right now, going out to eat, buying school supplies? I could give thousands of examples of large and small buisnesses that would be affected.
The next question to ask is how many more people would be collecting unemployment, welfare, food stamps, government assistance of any kind? Where do you think that money comes from?
