with this economy and lack of work I would be happy with anything that actually pays.  Alot depends on where you live and cost of living.  Back in 2006  I knew some splicers making 30 to 40 an hour.  Now, I would be happy with 20.  And thats them providing truck, fuel, insurance.  All you have to do is show up and work.  When this economy bounces back and projects start up and the demand for a good splicer goes up, then you can get more.
