That's the problem right there. Been in the business 15 years and sometimes can't make any money??? How much were you getting paid 15 years ago? Or even 5 years ago for an install? What was the cost of fuel and materials then? How much was the cost of food, housing, clothing and so on. This is the only industry that I know of were a technician takes a pay cut every year. Lower pay, higher cost of living. But does Dish or DTV care??? No, all the risk and financial responsibilty for them is put on the Retailers and Installers with all the charge backs and equipment buy backs. If I cancel my insurance or shut off my phone does the insurance and phone company charge back the salesman or the installer??? Do the Telco and cable companies charge back their employees for failed QC's and service calls??? I don't think so.
