The sales reps generate the order that gets you your route so just say "thank you"....
You are right on one thing though and that is the sales rep. starts each day with a big zero in the pocket goes to work and if no one bites comes home with that same zero in the pocket. Its not easy but those who can handle it make out well. Have had a number of installers who have tried and made the transition and they can't believe how easy it can be if you just keep the viewpoint of punching the clock and putting in x hours each day (prime time being evenings of course). Its a numbers game so if you talk to x people you should end up with y units or y plus 1 if real knowledgeable, y plus 2 if also personable etc etc. Been in it 27 years and the rewards have been good. If ya try it make sure you work with the reputable dsr companies though which are few and far between.
