I got started as an installer and a damn good one I can run a mid span, bump pole, and set my ladder properly, but thats not the issue. Bottom line is cost of living is up, contractor pay is down, and the cable company's profit margin is entirely too high, but you guys aren't the only ones that have had your pay cut in half, project managers don't make what they used to. My old boss made twice what I make now, but there is no other job that will feed my family like this one does. That is why I say just put your head down and get the shit done, because no matter what we do the cable company will just find somebody willing to do it for cheaper. In other words they dont give a shit about us and if we want to stay in this business all we can do is quit complaining and just work, bitching doesn't increase my pay so i quit complaining and looked for the positives.
