Just an FYI for you.  Use this info as you wish.  As a non-union employee, your employer can fire you for just about any reason. No big suprise.  But one of the things they can not legally fire you for, is refusing to work in un-safe working conditions.  By law, your employer is REQUIRED to provide you with safe working condition.  This includes providing a job site that is not being picketed by angry workers.

People see picketers yelling at those crossing picket lines and think the union people are just beeing assholes.  They are NOT beeing assholes.  They are giving people (assuming they want to respect the line but are a non union) a viable reason to consider the site unsafe.  You would then have the right to call your boss and say you don't feel safe entering the job site.  The boss then has to take action and make the site safe for you.  That may require calling security or even the cops.  Either way, the "norm" has been disrupted, which is really all they can expect.  The union knows that as a non union employee you have very little rights when it comes to honoring a legal picket line.  All they would like too see, is their non-union brothers excercise the few rights they do have, and make the company use the extra resources to deem the worksite safe.



$24/hr for strike work is just ridiculous.  Thats like SUPER scab wages!!  Just say NO!!
