You got that right. Why work for a sub. Go talk to the Prime and work for them. You have no need for the sub, unless you feel like you're making too much money in this business and need to give have of it to the sub, lol.

One could think about it this way. The sub most likely has poor margins because prices are already beaten down so low and they are most likely only getting about 60% of what the prime does. Now this sub is going to be very creative with back charges in order to supplement their bottom line. And you will be the victim.

On the flip side, these primes love to use sub contractors, because they get to keep 40% of the money, for simply handing over a check every week or two to the subcontractor. What a gravy train for them.
