Spoken just like someone who is willing to just take it just like the pols like it. And I don't say that to put you down at all, quite the opposite. One man one vote. Politics has gotten screwed up by people of ALL classes trying to get the government to give them 'free' things. From the the rich wanting the tax code tailored to their business to the poor wanting the government to give welfare benefits for no work for life and everyone in between, everyone had their hand out. It has to stop. You stop it by voting, and just as important, by voting for candidates who are best for the country and not just who is promising to give you the most for free. Those who call themselves 'the downtrodden' want the government to do for them and the rich want it to do for them to. I want it to work for all, and the current batch are not up to doing anything for anyone but themselves.
Think about it, everyone gets pissed that the rich gets special treatment from the government. But the rich fund, through taxes, most of the government. It is a circular arguement. And pols love the tax money because it is at the root of their power in DC. Follow the money, find the source of the problem and DC always seams to be near the end doesn't it?
As far as going back in time, the whole world has changed greatly in the 233 years we have been a nation. Things that were acceptable world wide then are abhored today. My point is that it seems to me that more and more of the regular folks have lost their moral compass so to speak. No one bothers to go to the town hall for the meetings any longer. No one is willing to hold their elected officials accountable, less than half of eligible voters vote. And we wonder why things are out of control when we turn a blind eye to it. I know it is cliche but it still is true, freedom is not free. The population in general has gotten fat, dumb and lazy over the last 50 years and now looks around and doesn't like what it sees, but can't get up off of the sofa to do anything about it. That has to change to fix what is wrong in America. Take an active role in your community, go to the town hall monthly meetings, write letters to your congressman when you think you need to and please vote, every election everytime.
