I have had some crazy stuff with dish equipment before, what kind of metter are you using?
the first thing that comes to mind is that the dish is not peaked in properly,
chek that the mast is compleatly plumb (level,) you really do need the strut arm,
for stability, chek dish settings on the point dish screen again. Are you using the third port?'
Also when you tighten the three vertical bolt down the dish will turn and ruin the peak, you have to tighten them and then use the fine tuning controls.


other than that it could be the dish is warped or bent (not too likely it happened accidental)
so that is not too common, the lnb, or cable would be more likely, problems .
All you can do is start all over eveything new and replaced,
don't wast time fixing one thing then checing to see if it works,
Fix everythig and replace everthing, if the house is prewired,
run a test cable through the door
