Ya know,
I interviewed with DISH years ago and that memo looks familiar. Any EMPLOYER would have a right to expect all that stuff. HOWEVER:
These are terms of EMPLOYMENT.
ALL supplies & equipment are provided by the EMPLOYER.
WAGES are paid regardless of success at given tasks. The recourse to
failure is termination.
So DISH wants to treat subs like employees for purposes of product control but when time comes to pay FICA, withholding tax and required insurance the contractor becomes independent again.
They keep working the same scam. In Maryland it will cost them (DISH & DTV & CATV) $5000.00 per violation if the politiciand grow a set and not open the brown bags,
