Splicing experience is great, but certifications haven't done much for me as far as impressing employers. It's good to know, but at least in FL splicing is very feast or famine, I'm sure its the same elsewhere. The best 'cert' that I've got which has interested the most prospective employers has been a CDL, or in some cases the low volt liscense. I'd maybe start there. If you pile an NCTI cert and fusion splicing on top of a CDL and LVL, there really arent too many who will turn you away (if you've got teeth). But, like the others are saying, not much can trump the good ol' verifiable hands on exp. G'luck.
