That mind set is crazy. Be honest with yourself. The current mess was CREATED by congress. Freddie and Fannie are quasi government institutions. The congress mandated banks to start giving out loans to lower income people with shakier backgrounds or risk re regulation by them and law's dictating the loans. Dodd and Frank were both on the committee that started all of this and now you want me to "let it ride" so the same group of village idiots can fix the mess that they made with my money.

This is a capitalist country. The government has NO right, or reason, to OWN private businesses. This is a very slippery slope they have started down. And they have a habit of once they start, they don't stop. All of this govt ownership stakes in businesses is a step toward socialism, period. And if it is truly not, then all they have done is thrown money down a hole never to be seen again. These businesses should have been in BK court, not on the government tit.

And when are people going to wake up and realize, the money being used for this "bailout" is our money? If it goes wrong, WE are responsible. Congress does go out and get a second job, we all do. remember this, back about 20 years ago, congress stuck its nose in and said ceo's can not make a salary more than X dollars. So business, being so much stupider than congress, said ok and created stock options. Now ceo's are more worried about inflating the stock price as opposed to do what is right for the factory and its workers. Thank God for congress, they fixed it for us again with that one. Congress is full of shit, the presidents are no different and they are all getting worse. Why does anyone want to give them the benefit of the doubt? Name one action, not words, speeches or slogan, action that they have taken in 30 years that has produced RESULTS. There are few if any. I am all out of hope for change. If what they want to do is good for myself and the rest of the country, show it to me in detail and in light of day. Do not write the largest spending bill and pass it less than 24 hours later when NO ONE possibly had the time to read it more or less understand it. Do not try to fast track legislation to avoid filibuster in the senate. If it is filibustered and is wrong, the voters can fix it, not Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. I am a big boy and can make my own decisions and do not need 535 baby sitters to do it for me.

I Know this is getting long winded, but I get pissed off when people are trying to destroy our country, democrat and republican alike. But they are with this nonsense they are performing in DC right now. Here is a suggestion, any time they introduce a bill, right after the name, list the article and any section and subsection of the constitution that SPECIFICALLY allows congress to be involved in what ever it is. Most of the crap they make now is not based in the constitution, but in their own desires. The constitution gives congress very specific duties and responsibilities and gives all of the other powers to the several states. If your state wants to spend money on the house fly mating study go ahead. Congress needs to be challenged to do the right thing, not a joy ride and our atm cards.
