What you people don't understand is that the eyes of the world are watching and paying attention to this cause it involves and american, so it will be treated with kid gloves just like every military tactic, unfortunetly at the captains expense and his family.
The U.S will not reason with terrorists, they will blow everyone out of the water before they hand over money.
If they do for some strange reason, they will claim that the rules of dealing with terrorists only apply when the hostages are on american soil, we had to do what we had to do to get our guy out of there, which in turn the 2 million will be spent on weapons to destroy us all at a later date.
But I dought that will happen cause every terrorist will then try this stupid sceme and we'll just have to go to war with another country and I'll get called up again to look for some guy hiding in a bunker in someone's back yard.
