Well, as I see it, those of you who were back here protesting the war and not out fighting it should stop every vet you see and hug and thank him for being in that terrible place at that time and not dragging your a** down some nasty muddy trail! And although I don't really like what has become of our government, if you have taken advantage of the privledges this great country provides and have not given anything back,(ie. government service, either military or civilian) then it might be better to sit back, shut up and enjoy the freedom others have secured for you! As one of my favorite authors, Robert A. Heinlein, put it in the book, 'The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress': TNSTAAFL! (There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch!) He also stated in another book, (Starship Troopers) that citizenship should be procured only with government service and that if you decide not to give your time to the government for a short period, you should be allowed every other freedom except the right to vote! And this isn't like any government on Earth is practising now! Also, on a related subject, I'm glad to see that the military people coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq are getting a supportive welcome home. Of course some of that is due to the memory of what some of you did to us when we returned, and while we will NEVER forget the things you did and said to and about us, we nevertheless went on with our lives and some of us never admitted to anyone outside our circle of comrades that we knew anything about that war! So, you so called 'peaceniks', enjoy your freedom and before you know it one of your kids will be off to some exotic land to kill people he/she doesn't even know!
