It was kind of crazy when we started~
We needed Fed & State tax ID #'s, business bank account, insurance, accountant & lawyer. Lots of running around & research. We incorporated though, which I'm a firm believer in to separate business & personal, also to protect personal assets in case something does happen. I read somewhere that sole proprietors will be getting taxed at the higher rate if they make over $250,000.
Start by finding a good accountant, business banker, insurance agent, & lawyer. They will help get you going in the right direction. Our accountant does our payroll with direct deposit for $45 a week. Worth it to me to have all the tax payments etc done right, direct deposit is a huge plus to us. Also remember DOT & OSHA
Lots of blood, sweat & tears the first few years, hang in there.
Best of luck to ya, nice to see someone one here that's not complaining about how everyone else is getting rich off them, but doing something about it.
