Let me add another interesting perspective for you to ponder; a man may live a lie, but a man is not going to die for a lie. The early Christian martyrs that had seen Christ, spent time with Him, witnessed miracles, were moved enough that they were willing to die horrific deaths for what they believed. Do you think they would have done that just to perpetrate a fraud? What gain did they foresee in doing so? It is documented that the Romans would take the early Christians, tar them, tie them to a post, and use them to line an area as human torches to illuminate an area so they can see. I'm pretty sure going down like that took some serious faith in what you believed in and that faith came from some kind of strong evidence that Jesus was the Christ, scripture had been fulfilled, and not even facing death could change that.
