people are the only animal on earth that know of their own mortality.a dog doesnt know that it is going to die some day.we do , so instead of accepting that when we die thats it , we want to belive we go on after this life to another plane of existance. and besides if all you can do is kill me and thats the end you have no control over me.but if you convince me that if i dont do what im told i will be punished forever that is a good way to control me
