 I have never been back charged for not hooking up a phone line even with Mastec if there isn't a phone line within 20' then not my problem if the homeowner doen't want to pay for one to be installed a lot of people just have cell service now anyway. I used to put them in with the old tivos but now with the SWM you dont even have to run the extra line anymore.
