Re: Looking For Training Material For CDV Alarm Ho

Same thing that happens to phone company subs when it rains... the alarm cant call out and the alarm company never notices. What a scam. Tell em to dump their monitoring service and hire you to install webcams instead!

And remember guys, the whole line seizure/backfeed to panel thing is only necessary if the cx pays for monitoring- thats my question if they confirm having an alarm. If it's not monitored (they pay monthly) then the ol' 2-way in the MTA jack'll be just fine (kidding). If and when they do have it monitored, the wiring is on the alarm co. If half of the homes have alarms, prob 1/4 of those are monitored. If its a brand new house, check the panel for an antenna- again, no seizure. F'em. O yea, last thing- if there's a smart panel, dump the MTA in there and feed the alarm 6" away, anyway their router needs to go in there if they want to make use of the $3000 they spent on the ethernet jacks.
