Have you been looking at your splice from both directions or just one? If you are splicing Superior Essex or some Draka crap you will have a lot of gainers from one direction and bad losses from the other (core mismatches). Is this a recent problem with good fiber? Maybe time to send it in for a tune up. AFL will load the most recent software.
