You can balance & blueprint them and shore up the mains,rifel out the oil passages and get 15 grand out of a cummings
I have seen 900hp out of a twin turbo 6cyl cummings, mercedes ran a 24 hour of Lamans race with the same block that cummings used, granted it was a aluminum block but they used the same casting that cummings used for the cast iron block, It's all about the B&B, a Mazda Wankel will turn 22k if they didn't have a rev limiter on them.
