Ah but, climbing with gaffs is magic and it is prestige(you'll never know, ever have a clue and realize by you're attitude), bottom line it's called SKILL. When you can deal with ice, 30 mile hr winds at your back(20&30 below) walkin' the dog around the pole, climbing pitch dark in easement with only the flash of your meter to give you a reference(saving battrey when possible), climb above 4 courses of telly around side walk guys or avoiding secondary, neut or primary, gaff 2 inches of kudzu nor see the light of pole with ivy, climbing with you finger tips unless you have at least an 8 and a 5 combined, can set a bug at 87"(never was good at a single "D"), 45 footers, a few, were enough for me. 50 to 70 and 101 in one day on a de-trap couldn't compare to 2 I talked to that hit 70 doing const. pumping by hand, strand, cable and lash. There's definantly a point to make,if we've/some of us have made it this long and survived, it's called FM(fucking majic).
