Hey, you never walk the line with hooks on . You ever fall? The last thing you want to worry about is a set of hooks. And if you notice the guy 3 poles ahead cutting off straps looks like he's on hooks. This day and age a good lineman must have mastered all the tools of the trade. Most of us don't have the running that you can only need a pair of hooks a bell wrench and a pair of 9's with sockets on the ends like back in the 70's and 80's. Ladders are are the norm. my lineman in Philly have 4or5 on each of their T-40's. So, it's ok to be a ladderlineman .
