I agree w/Blake23 and jmiller concerning the Node and cablehog's ingress, yet cblnet's aspect of the cable's condition may prove helpful. Try running a single channel scan w/your meter from the connection at the modem on the channel providing the internet. We use channel 112 for our area. Pay attention to the BER pre and post. If if fluctuates within 60 seconds, work your way back to the splitter and so on. When the fluctuations stops, its between that point and the modem's connection. Change connections and splitters. If the BER is still fluctuating, the cable's condition has deteriorated.
