It occurs to me that the clerk is a thief and works for the government. If he over charged them $5.00 and gave the bellhop $5.00 to evenly split and actually he kept $2.00 and only returned $3.00 split evenly. Therefore, I interpret them as being overcharged $5.00 each. Then, if the bellhop returned each a dollar which results to a net $18.00. The thieving ass bellhop swiped $2.00 totaling $20.00. That means the clerk pocketed $10.00. And probably got blown by a crack whore..
