I agree with the laser clipping issue. A typical test on your analyzer extended out to 200 MHz while looking at the return receiver ahould be totally flat if all is well in the return plant. Any issues that show up will indicate laser clipping and/or dirty fibers. However, noise that appears as impulse in that area will likely be laser clipping. The diplex filters in the modules will trap out anything above 42 MHz, therefore anything showing up in this area will likely not be plant related.
