Re: The NAACP Awards Why Can't We have OUR awards

My experience has been we all reach a point in our lives when we realize we are not all the same. We all have different interests. In my case it was 17 and in service. We all were in it together and talked about it, got it straight in our own heads and worked together. Watched each others backs, depended on each other black, white, hispanic, filipino whatever, we all worked and lived together. We depended on each other at times for our survival. But it ended up that if someone we did not have common interests with, than we did not hang together. I am talking small groups, 15 to 20 men isolated from the rest of the world for as long as a year. We were a pretty diverse group, but no one told anyone who to be friends with. 38 years later I do not need the government telling me who to hang with on weekends. If I want to spend time with my black friends then I will. If I want to spend time with my white friends then I will. I WILL NOT be told who I need as my inner circle of friends. At work I try to get along with everyone but they will realize that I have and am entitled to my opinions and beliefs just as they are.
The end result of a socialist is the same as a communist. The communist is just in a hurry and has a gun.
