Well, when I got out of it the hourly rate was $21, that was supplying truck, tools, extra insurance and responsible for your own taxes. It viried depending on what part of the country you were working though.
Most new construction was piece work and the "master contractor" took about 33% off the top. That's about the time I said F-it.
