Google for the DD-WRT forum website. It's pretty much a wireless networking geekfest on modding existing consumer routers and access points to work large areas like your discribing. I can think of a few ways to solve the problem you have. It's going to come down to cost and how far away power sources are. The forum is a good jumping off point for you on "How" to get'er done using materials and parts you can purchase at your local Best Buy and Home Depot.
