Looks like CVI made some cuts and raises
1st they cut out the voom network (basic HD channels) and replaced them with premium HD channels.
2nd they cut the bandwidth (boost) that I am paying for from 30Mbps down to 20Mbps down (losing 33%)
3rd they cut the prices to the contractors installing services by 40%
4th they are raising subscription prices.
How does a company make such bone headed moves when Verizon is currently ripping through their subscriber territory and offering way more for less. I have friends that have been hit by the door to door sales teams and when they call CVI to see if they are interested in meeting Verizons offer, CVI simply says "we offer what we offer and thats the price" I just don't get it. One would think that they would compete to keep their subscriber base, but I guess not.
It becomes a no brainer. New plant (all fiber), new subsciber drop (again fiber) no compression for HD channels, 20 down 20 up dedicated, free on demand library, etc. All for less.
