Those are really the deciding factors. The greed of the contractor and the stupidity and desperation of the tech. The real problem, and please don't take this wrong my brothers, is that a majority of techs have very little education. There are very few businesses where a guy with a high school (or less) education can make 1500 or 2000 dollars a week with the freedom to go and do where and what they want. That's a good gig no matter who you are.
