Check to see if your state has an unpaid contractor act on the books. Here in PA and NJ the law automatically adds interest and a 1 percent per month penalty to any judgment for an unpaid contractor. When you win they will have 14 days to pay or the sheriff gets involved. The sheriff can order on the spot an outside audit of the company. If they have not been paid, the sheriff can ask the MSO for the payment to settle a judgment. If the money is over 30 days what can the MSO say to the sheriff, sue me?
