Gramps, you know a 6k lb. reel of 1800/24 cable would scare the shit outta the boy, doubt if he couldd get the end started off the reel...Ain't gonna brag on the bar cause everybody thinks ya trying to out do them but I have been known to be able to find water ingress in cable using a Frequency Domain Reflectometry..but I'm sure if we started using them big words like "Phase Angle", "Characteristic Impedance", "Reflection Coefficient" and if we let him know that when water gets in the cable it lowers the magnitude and angle of the characteristic line impedance giving off reflections where the water starts and stops..he might just give up installing and rush out to become a Telco Engineer overnight...Just goes to show, we CAN do more than climb a pole..
