The first thing you should do is join the SCTE at http://scte.org and you can get there training manuals from there online store. you can also do there certification program in all phases of catv. this will give you a good understanding of CATV, how the plant works and how to work on it. then when you go looking for a entry level position you can talk with knowledge and better your chances for a position and better pay.
