What your buddy needs is to get a Pure White Light LED they come in all shapes & form from 120v plug in to 6 d-cell mag lights
and they produce the full light spectrum.

I failed the eye test for Secor due to a Green,Brown,Olive unbalanced back in the early 80's when I went to their fiber school in Cawtaba,NC.
then went back to same school in 87 after they re-vamped the specs and Passed.
Now I have a clamp on light that has a PWL Led they even make them in Hardhat mounts.
have him go to Home Depot and check out the LED Maglights and look at the color labels without the light Then have him look at the same with the LED on
he will be sold.
