I put a lot of work into an alternative Bar for those having problems using the new site. This includes anyone with an ancient browser, very slow Internet, or other types of pc or connection issuess. You get the choice on the home page (http://www.cabl.com) Click the graphic button for the main entry or the link below it for the alternate.
Generally, though, switching from the full-page forum style to split-screen static (Account-->Change Options) should help almost anyone having difficulties just in the forum.
