Im not sure but i think reference calls can only consist of is that person eligible for rehire or not. Don't believe details can be giving out especially if they are false. Therefore if it is a false statement you have the right to go after them for slander. As for the company that didn't hire you its probably their loss. companies do not want to hire experience that cost more money, companies love turn over keeps payroll down. There is a lot of complaints you can file if the company you did work for deducted money with out back up.
May I ask what companies your talking about
