Re: Stealthware

Sent this to those that have requested and thought I would post it here for all...

First you need to install Stealthware as the administrator of the pc. When you complete the install you will need to change the com port setting in the control panel. If you have a laptop you will be using a usb to serial adapter that must have its driver installed as well.

Vista likes to put the com port on 19 or above Stealthware only works on comport 1,2, 3, or 4 com port 2 is best. Even if something else is on com port 2 assign it to the usb adapter and it will bump the other device to another com port. You will also want to set your baud rate 9600 works best. once you have made these settings in your hardware device manager for the adapter you will need to make them in Stealthware as well under the configure menu/ port settings.

At this point you should be able to connect with your meter and upload and download files. The main difference you will see with vista is that you can no longer create a database for your files. This is because Vista handles databases and passwords differently that older versions of Windows. You will need to do this manually. simply brows to c:/stlware/sample and you can create a new folder for your node and sub folders for your files if you like. then you can select these folders when you download each file type.

If you have issues with installing Stealthware or running the program go to Vista's help menu and search for run program as administrator. If you are trying to run Vista 64 bit it won't work the program is not compatible.
